Application Guide for International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship of Shanghai University in 2025

一、申请条件/Eligibility

1. 非中国籍人士；

Be a non-Chinese citizen;

2. 对华友好，无违法犯罪记录，遵守中国政府的法律、法规和学校的规章制度；

Be friendly to China, have no criminal record, abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of the Host Institution;

3. 身心健康，品学兼优；

Be in good physical and mental health, be in good academic and behavioral standing;

4. 有志于从事中文教育、教学及相关工作；

Be interested in Chinese language education and related work; 

5. 年龄为16-35 周岁（统一以2025年9月1日计）。在职中文教师放宽至45周岁，本科奖学金申请者一般不超过 25周岁。

Be aged between 16 and 35 years on September 1, 2025. The maximum age limit for in-service Chinese teachers may be extended to 45, but those who apply for a scholarship for a Bachelor’s degree shall be younger than 25 under most circumstances.

二、资助对象/Supporting Category

1. 国际中文教育专业硕士研究生

Scholarship for Master’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education

2025年 9月入学，资助期限为2年。

The program commences in September 2025, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of two academic years.

具有大学本科学历。中文水平考试成绩达到 HSK（五级）210 分、HSKK（中级）60 分。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议或相关证明者优先。

Applicants shall hold a Bachelor’s degree. Applicants shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK Test (Level 5) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level). Priority will be given to applicants who may provide an employment contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China or proof to the same effect.

2. 国际中文教育专业本科生

Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education

2025年9月入学，资助期限为4年。

The program commences in September 2025, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of four academic years.

具有高中学历。中文水平考试成绩达到 HSK（四级）210分、HSKK（中级）60 分。

Applicants shall hold a senior high school diploma and have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK Test (Level 4) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).

3.一学年研修生

Scholarship for One-Year Study Program

2025年9月入学，资助期限为11个月。

The program commences in September 2025, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of eleven months. 

国际中文教育方向，中文水平考试成绩达到 HSK（三级）270 分，具有 HSKK 成绩；汉语言文学、中国历史、中国哲学等方向，中文水平考试成绩达到 HSK（四级）180 分、HSKK（中级）60 分；汉语研修方向，中文水平考试成绩达到 HSK（三级）210 分，提供 HSKK 成绩者优先。

Applicants of international Chinese language education programs shall have a minimum score of 270 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required. Applicants of Chinese language and literature, Chinese history, or Chinese philosophy programs shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 4) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level). Applicants of Chinese language study programs shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 3), and priority will be given to applicants who provide an HSKK test score.

4.一学期研修生

Scholarship for One-Semester Study Program

2025年9月、2026年3月入学，资助期限为5个月。

The program commences either in September 2025 or March 2026, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of five months. 

国际中文教育、汉语言文学、中国历史、中国哲学等方向，中文水平考试成绩达到 HSK（三级）180 分，具有HSKK 成绩；中医、太极文化方向，具有 HSK 成绩，同时提供 HSKK 成绩者优先。

Applicants of international Chinese language education, Chinese language and literature, Chinese history, or Chinese philosophy programs shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required. Applicants of traditional Chinese medicine or Taiji culture programs are required to provide HSK test scores, and priority will be given to those who also provide an HSKK test score.

5. 四周研修生

Scholarship for Four-Week Study Program

2025年7月或12月入学，资助期限为4周。

The program commences either in July or December 2025, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of four weeks. 

汉语研修、中医、太极文化、汉语言+中国家庭体验等方向，具有 HSK 成绩。可由推荐机构组团进行报名，并事先联系接收院校确定在华学习计划，提前报中心审批，每团10-15 人。

Applicants of Chinese language study, traditional Chinese medicine, Taiji culture, or Chinese language plus home-stay with a Chinese family program are required to provide an HSK test score. The program may be organized and applied for by a Recommending Institution with 10-15 participants per group. Before the trip, a detailed study plan shall be made in consultation with the Host Institution(s) and such plan shall be submitted to CLEC for review and approval.

三、申请时间/Application Time

2025年2月20日起，申请者可登录中外语言交流合作中心网站（http://www.chinese.cn）国际中文教师奖学金板块申请。

Online registration will be available from February 20th, 2025 on the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website (http://www.chinese.cn) .

四、截止日期（以北京时间为准）Application Deadlines (Beijing Time)

1.7月入学：

学生申请截止日期为4月15日，推荐机构、接收院校审核截止日期为4月25日；

For programs commencing in July, applicants must complete their applications by April 15, and Recommending Institutions and Host Institutions must complete the review by April 25.

2.9月入学：

学生申请截止日期为5月15日，推荐机构、接收院校审核截止日期为5月25日；

For programs commencing in September, applicants must complete their applications by May 15, and Recommending Institutions and Host Institutions must complete the review by May 25.

3.12月入学：

学生申请截止日期为9月15日，推荐机构、接收院校审核截止日期为9月25日；

For programs commencing in December, applicants must complete their applications by September 15, and Recommending Institutions and Host Institutions must complete the review by September 25.

4.2026年3月入学：

学生申请截止日期为10月31日，推荐机构、接收院校审核截止日期为11月10日。

For programs commencing in March 2026, applicants must complete their applications by October 31, and Recommending Institutions and Host Institutions must complete the review by November 10.
